Q) What type of aircraft will PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES be using?
A) Turbine powered Cessna Caravans (C208) on amphibious floats.

Q) Is the Cessna Caravan a single engine or multi engine aircraft?
A) The Cessna Caravan is a single engine turbo prop.

Q) Isn’t a single engine aircraft dangerous?
A) The reason PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES chose the Cessna Caravan was for its turbine reliability. The Pratt & Whitney PT6 turbine engine installed on the Caravan has tens of millions of in service hours with a near legendary reliability record which is the reason Cessna chose that engine in the first place. This airframe engine combination is in service all around the world in some of the most inhospitable and harshest environments Mother Nature has to offer and has proven itself time and time again to be an exceptional aircraft.

Q) Isn’t landing on water dangerous?
A) No but pilots do need to acquire some additional skills which is why PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES has hired some of the best and most experienced amphibious pilots in the world to train our pilots and ensure that PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES is at the highest standards by any international comparison.

Q) What if the weather is bad?
A) Obviously there is a limit to what kind of bad weather any aircraft can operate in but our pilots and planes are fully capable of flying in poor visibility and your “normal” bad weather. When returning to Manila, we always have the option of landing at the airport if water conditions do not seem conducive to our operations. If water conditions at our primary landing sight at the resorts are not favorable we will normally be able to use an alternate landing site very close by.

Q) How much luggage is each passenger allowed to take?
A) Each passenger will be allowed 20kg of total luggage plus either a handbag or a laptop case.

Q) What is the seating capacity of the Cessna Caravan?
A) We will be operating the aircraft in a 10 seat configuration.

Q) Does it feel different flying in a seaplane or in a normal wheeled airplane?
A) Flying in an amphibious aircraft feels absolutely no different to a wheel aircraft just the take offs and landings are much more fun with us.

Q) How experienced are your pilots?
A) All our Captains have “Airline Transport Pilots Licenses” and many of them from multiple countries. We have also managed to secure many pilots with extensive Cessna Caravan time.

Q) Have you had any accidents?
A) No we have not and it is vital to the survival of our business that it stays that way. PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES executives have understood that and are ensuring that only the best staff are hired to maintain and operate the airplanes. All our pilots and mechanics have “clean” records and considerable industry experience.

Q) What are your destinations?
A) Our destinations are from Manila direct to contracted Resorts.

Q) What wave height can you still operate in?
A) There are many factors that influence that decision but 3ft swells are no problem.

Q) Can the plane be chartered for other operations?
A) The aircraft can be chartered provided there is no scheduling conflict with our regular resort services. As PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES grows, we will also be in a better position to offer unscheduled charter services.

Q) How do we book a flight?
A) When booking your vacation at the resort, you will have the choice to use our services. If you would like to charter the whole aircraft, contact PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES either via email or phone to arrange for bookings.

Q) Why should we fly with PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES?
A) The two main reasons to fly PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES are:
1) Only PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES offers the excitement of a seaplane ride combined with the reliability of a turbine powered aircraft.
2) When flying to resorts, we pick you up in Manila and drop you at the door step of the resort. The increased convenience and added safety of not having to land on a remote airstrip, then take a bus, jeepney, banca or boat ride, any combination of or all of the above, allows you to start you vacation as soon as you get onboard our aircraft.

Q) Will there be food and beverages on board?
A) Unfortunately due to weight restrictions we will not be in a position to carry the weight of beverages.

Q) What times can you fly?
A) Our takeoffs and landings from the water need to be conducted in daylight due to a lack of visual aids that runways provide. However for operations in and out of Manila, we can fly pretty much anytime.

Q) How long are your flights?
A) Depending on your destination, between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours.

Q) How fast Does your aircraft fly?
A) The Caravan cruises at 162 kts or 186 mph or 300 kmh.

Q) How high does the Caravan fly?
A) The amphibious Caravan has a service ceiling of 20,000 ft or 6,069m but we will normally fly at an altitude of 7,000 (2,300m) to 10,000 feet (3,300m) so our guest have the best scenic view.

Q) How much is it going to cost to fly with PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES?
A) PHILIPPINE SEAPLANE ADVENTURES is going to be marginally more expensive than your “normal” plane ride. The main contributing factor for that are the significantly higher maintenance requirements for operating airplanes in a salt water environment. However weighing that against the time saving and the reduced hassle of multiple transports to get to your resort, it is probably a steal.
